OCTOBER: Stu Mackenzie

As part of his position at Birds Canada, Stu is working on the MOTUS Wildlife Tracking System. He will explain how this documents the movement of birds in North America and how its data aids in conservation.

NOVEMBER: Inga Hinnerichsen

From the Norfolk Field Naturalists, Inga will share her knowledge of “Fantastic Fungi and Mysterious Mushrooms.”

DECEMBER: Peter Rasberry

Retired outdoor education teacher and avid nature photographer, Peter presents Gaia’s Gifts. It celebrates the beauty, complexity and diversity of Earth’s inhabitants .

JANUARY: John Reaume

Dr. Reaume, a naturalist and wildlife photographer, has been described as having an eye for detail. Who better to show us the intricacies of snowflakes?

FEBRUARY: Ken Clarke

Past president and longtime SFN worker, Ken will share some observations of New Zealand from a recent Stratford of the Worlds visit.

MARCH: Don Scallen

A writer and naturalist from the Halton region, Don has studied Ontario’s eight native turtles.They are among the most vulnerable species in the world, and he works to ensure their survival.

APRIL: Emily Chandler

A native Stratfordite, Emily works for the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority. She will provide some insight into the value and challenges of our precious waterway.

MAY: Jeff Bowman

Jeff, a population ecologist with the Ontario Ministry of National Resources and Forests, will share his knowledge of flying squirrels. Reacting to warmer temperatures, these “natural aviators” are advancing northward.

​

JUNE: Beth GilhespieBeth, the CEO of the Escarpment Biosphere Conservancy, spoke to us last year about the geology of the escarpment. This year she will focus on one of her interests far from the escarpment – orangutans.
